Botanic Gardens Australia and New Zealand (BGANZ)
Plants are critical for life and Botanic Gardens are essential for us to be able to preserve and learn about plants.
International Plant Propagators’ Society NZ Region
Founded as a chapter of IPPS International in 1971 and becoming a region in its own right in 1984, the IPPS New Zealand Region has >200 members all around New Zealand. Membership consists of those working in many aspects of the nursery industry, researchers, academics, consultants and students all sharing plant production knowledge freely.
New Zealand Education Trust / Young Horticulturist of the Year
Established by the RNZIH and aims to assist and promote, in any way possible, horticultural training and education in New Zealand, including promoting and providing scholarships and prize schemes for young people in horticulture. The Young Horticulturist of the Year Competition is organised by the NZET.
New Zealand Gardens Trust
Established by the RNZIH and aims to promote the best in New Zealand gardens and horticulture. The NZGT website features a nationwide database of public and private gardens to visit.
New Zealand Notable Trees Trust
Also established by the RNZIH, in association with the NZ Arboricultural Association. This trust continues the national scheme established in 1978 to identify and register heritage trees.
New Zealand Arboricultural Association
NZ Arb's mission statement is to encourage, foster, improve and educate in all aspects of arboriculture in New Zealand.
New Zealand Plant Producers Inc.
The peak industry body for plant producers and industry partners. It's an opportunity for plant producers and their community to collaborate in shaping and growing an industry body with an influential voice that delivers value to our businesses.
New Zealand Professional Florists Inc.
A non-profit making organisation founded with the sole objective of raising the national standards of floristry.
New Zealand Tree Crops Association
A voluntary organisation promoting interest in useful trees, such as those producing fruit, nuts, timber, fuel, wood, livestock fodder, bee forage and other productive crops.

Liddle Wonder
Website of Liddle Wonder, a former nursery owned by Dr John Liddle, containing images and details of a wide variety of plants.
Naturally Native NZ Plants
Specialist growers of New Zealand native plants since 1980. Their website includes an online plant catalogue.
New Zealand PlantFinder
Beginning in 1995 Meg Gaddum published four PlantFinder books and went on create an online database of >50,000 plants listed from NZ nursery catalogues. This online database was available up to 2011. The web address (www.plantfinder.co.nz/) now redirects to Meg's Facebook page which contains a wide range of posts about plants.

Kiwi Gardener
Website of New Zealand's fortnightly do-it-yourself consumer gardening magazine, previously known as the Weekend Gardener. The magazine provides gardening and horticultural information of wide interest, some of which has been reproduced on the RNZIH website.

New Zealand Bonsai Association, the nationally recognised portal and repository for information about the New Zealand bonsai scene.
Auckland Branch of the Cactus and Succulent Society of New Zealand
Provides information for members and the general public to learn more about cacti and succulent plants.
Heritage Roses New Zealand Inc
Heritage Roses New Zealand Inc exists to nurture interest in and love of the beautiful roses of the past, and to ensure the continued existence of these living antiques.
National Daffodil Society of New Zealand
The purpose of the National Daffodil Society is to promote, appreciate and preserve New Zealand's daffodils.

New Zealand Native Orchids
An outstanding site dedicated to the native orchids of New Zealand. Contains articles from the NZ Native Orchid Group Journal, a large photo section, descriptions of the various species, their habitats, and more.
Orchid Council of New Zealand
The Orchid Council of New Zealand is a federation of independent, autonomous, orchid societies throughout New Zealand.
New Zealand Plant Protection Society
Their main objective: "To pool and exchange information on the biology of weeds, invertebrate and vertebrate pests, pathogens and beneficial organisms and methods for modifying their effects."
New Zealand Rhododendron Association
An Association formed in 1944 that promotes all aspects of Rhododendron growing in New Zealand.
New Zealand Rose Society

The International Plant Names Index (IPNI)
Database of the names and associated basic bibliographical details of all seed plants. IPNI is the product of a collaboration between The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, The Harvard University Herbaria, and the Australian National Herbarium.
The Plant List
A working list of all known plant species.
Tree of Life web project
A collaborative effort of biologists from around the world. On more than 10,000 webpages, the project provides information about biodiversity, the characteristics of different groups of organisms, and their evolutionary history (phylogeny).
