This booklet tells the story of Rawiri Taiwhanga, a member of the Ngapuhi tribe. It traces his life from his days as a warrior through his conversion to Christianity and his involvement with the Reverend John Butler at the mission station in Kerikeri. Taiwhanga became proficient in many aspects of agriculture and horticulture and is reputed to have been New Zealand's first commercial dairy farmer.
