Cactus Basics

Tony & Suzanne Mace
Hamlyn
Distributed by Hachette
$NZ19.99

Previously published as Cactus and Succulents this is a concise, clearly illustrated handbook for those who want to embark on growing cacti or merely wish to learn more about them.

Useful information includes description of the various growth forms and cultivation advice. The book warns that no cacti grow in a true desert and the largest single mistake a grower can make is to neglect their needs for water, food, air and light.

Also covered is propagation and building a plant collection, along with an A-Z of cacti and succulents.
