IF you're a dedicated rosarian the author's name and work will need no introduction. This book brings together three of the late gardening guru's previous books, the Old Shrub Roses, Shrub Roses of Today and Climbing Roses Old and New. As Gardens Adviser to National Trust from 1955, he was responsible for the restoration and conservation of many of England's finest gardens. As befits its pedigree, this is a dense, authoritative book crammed with rose lore - at a price.
