Water Gardens — Aponogeton dystacius

WHAT is a good plant to put some life and colour into my pond over winter, when most of the other plants die down?

 

THE water hawthorne, Aponogeton dystacius, is by far the best. Treat it as you would a water lily and feed regularly throughout the off-season.

The plants will reward you with white vanilla scented flowers and deep green strap-like leaves. This plant will also flower in the shade and will grow in water up
