National Pest Plant Accord

Summarised from Biosecurity New Zealand web pages at http://www.biosecurity.govt.nz/pests-diseases/plants/accord.htm

All content has been reproduced with permission.

The purpose of the accord is to prevent the sale, distribution, or propagation, within New Zealand, of specified pest plants.

The National Pest Plant Accord is intended as a way of building upon the initiative previously provided by the National Surveillance Pest Plant List, under which councils provided surveillance for a list of plants based on a mutual agreement to include them as pests in their respective regional pest management strategies. It is a cooperative agreement between regional councils and government departments with biosecurity responsibilities.
